Based in Sydney, Australia, Maya likes to describe herself as ‘Geo-referenced for your convenience’! In 2009, she co-founded Geo9 in 2009 after initially working in groundwater in 2002.

With her founding team of geologists, Maya accomplished a formidable track record over almost two decades of finding groundwater, conducting world-first R&D projects in aquifer characterisation and contamination mapping. Geo9 has helped hundreds of farmers and groundwater users throughout Australia, and conducted projects in Papua New Guinea, China and Germany. The company has found groundwater for rural towns in emergency drought situations, mapped industrial contamination plumes in China and conducted many novel exploration, groundwater mapping, geotechnical and other R&D projects.

Since 2015, Maya has also represented gasfields and agricultural innovator Future Energy Innovations, been appointed in an honorary role at the Delta Water Institute in China and also as a commercialisation representative for German Government technologies in hyperspectral mineral analysis and large-scale satellite gravity water monitoring.

Since 2019, Maya has also been launching innovative solutions in the fields of water treatment, tailings and waste transformation and energy systems.
